About Me

I've retired! Please visit the home page for referral information.

I'm a Harvard Law School graduate and former practicing attorney who later went to graduate school to study personal financial planning. I started working on my own in 1999, helping individuals, couples, and families understand and meet their financial needs.

In 2016 I joined with Ted Wolfstich of Wolfstich Capital LLC to provide clients with the extra value and continuity that a two-person team can offer.

We show people how to plan sensibly for their financial future, without gambling and without taking unnecessary risks.

I have a B.A. summa cum laude from Amherst College (1973), where I majored in mathematics and economics. I am a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School (1976). I also studied personal financial planning in Bentley College's graduate program and am certified by Bentley as a Master Personal Financial Planner (1999).

I have worked in government, in a law firm, and in business. For fifteen years I was in-house counsel at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital and then at Partners HealthCare System (now MassGeneralBrigham).

I am compensated only by client fees. I do not sell investment products to my clients and I do not receive commissions from third parties. My goal is to provide clients with unbiased high-quality impartial advice tailored to their personal financial situation and individual needs, at reasonable cost.

I was an original member of Pride Planners. For over 30 years I have had a top rating (currently called "AV-Preeminent®") for legal ability and adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, and diligence from Martindale-Hubbell, the worldwide attorneys' directory.

I was named a "Five-Star Wealth Manager" in Boston Magazine each year from 2010 through 2016.
